Description
The Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) is sponsoring an unclassified Industry Event on May 14, 2026. The event will be held at FRCSW, which is located at Naval Air Station North Island, San Diego, CA. The purpose of this event is to conduct formal market research and industry engagement in support of FRCSW MRO-L's planned procurement of two (2) low-profile aircraft tow tractors capable of safely supporting F/A-18E/F Super Hornet towing operations in constrained hangar, flight line, and maintenance/production environments. The intent is for FRCSW to communicate validated operational requirements, assess commercially available industry solutions, evaluate technical feasibility and vendor capabilities, and strengthen acquisition planning through direct collaboration with qualified vendors. Fleet Readiness Centers (FRCs) provide depot Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul, and Upgrade (MRO&U), In-service Repair (ISR), and manufacturing services in support of fixed and rotary wing aircraft, aircraft engines, aeronautical components, and support equipment across the Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE). The goal of this Industry Day event at FRCSW is to seek ideas and solutions for low-profile, high-maneuverability, safety-compliant aircraft tow tractor systems that meet FRCSW's operational, dimensional, performance, sustainment, and mission-readiness requirements for all aircraft with focus on F/A-18E/F ground handling operations. This event will begin at the Naval Base Coronado Visitor Control Center (VCC) located in San Diego, CA. Government representatives will meet participants outside of the base at the Visitor Control Center, located just to the left of the main gate (Gate 1) at NB Coronado on 4th Ave, Building 680, starting at 0800 PST. While at NAS North Island, all attendees must comply with all base and safety regulations. Upon check-in at the VCC, participants will receive a nametag and the schedule of events that are planned for the day. Participants will be bused from the VCC to the FRCSW meeting location and Tour site. Please note there may be walking involved during the tour within the facility. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the form of safety glasses and ear plugs will be provided by the Government to vendor partners, if required. Individual participants must wear flat, closed toe, closed heel shoes.
