The purpose of the amendment is to make the following change to the Solicitation: 03/27 Site Visit Sign-in Sheet --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Smithsonian Institution is seeking offers to upgrade Sanitary and Storm Systems project at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History located at 10th Street and Constitution Avenue NW, Washington, DC, as described herein and the Contract Documents, including, without limitation, in the Specifications and Drawings for SF Project No. 1600103 both dated December 5, 2025. All of the requirements which the successful Offeror must meet concerning this project are set forth in detail in the solicitation Documents included with this Request for Proposal. Upon receipt of Technical and Cost Proposals and the selection of a successful Offeror, the Smithsonian Institution will execute a Fixed Price construction contract. The Smithsonian currently estimates that the fixed price for the entire project will exceed $10 Million. The scope of this project includes the installation of a new sanitary and stormwater system throughout the Museum Main Building, East and West Wings to replace the existing infrastructure that has reached the end of its service life. Work must be executed with extreme care to protect the museum's collections, exhibits, and research operations, and preserve its historic architecture features. The major elements of work include, but are not limited to, the following: Installation of new sanitary and stormwater piping systems through the Main Building, East and West Wings in accordance with construction documents. Rerouting stormwater and sanitary piping where possible to avoid passage through the ceiling of exhibit halls, collection storage areas, and other sensitive or restricted spaces. Capping off abandoned piping, where feasible, isolating it from active systems and preventing future infiltration or structural compromise. Removal and disposal of old piping where capping is not feasible, in compliance with environmental regulations and structural safety standards.
