Description
Background: Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the largest investigative arm in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), is responsible for identifying and shutting down vulnerabilities in the nation's border, economic, transportation, and infrastructure security. The US Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) directorate is a critical asset in the ICE mission, responsible for investigating a wide range of domestic and international activities arising from the illegal movement of people and goods into, within, and out of the United States. The ICE Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is responsible for the overall management, planning, development, deployment, operation, maintenance, coordination, and evaluation of ICE technology programs and activities. ICE seeks to leverage a business-centric approach to system design, minimizing duplicative tasks, leveraging common functionality, and reducing the complexity associated with systems maintenance. ICE also seeks to leverage best practices in open architecture to minimize cycle time and costs associated with acquiring and maintaining third-party tools. Leveraging ICE's Agile environment, all of this should be accomplished through cloud-based hosting and Development, Security and Operations (DevSecOps) tools.
