The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requires the repair and rehabilitation of the concrete walls and the floor of the Upper North Regulating Outlet (RO) wall located at Detroit Dam in Gates, Oregon 97346. The primary scope of work is to perform concrete removal and repair of erosion damage to the concrete walls and floor of the RO conduit. Repair of this erosion will require saw cutting, concrete removal, preparation of the concrete surface, and application of a polymer modified repair mortar to restore the wall and floor to the original conduit geometry. Also, at the Governments option, the work can include the application of a protective epoxy coating on designated locations of the conduit surface. Project Scope: The following information represents the project objectives: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Portland District, requires structural concrete repairs and, at the government's option, the application of a protective epoxy coating system within the Upper North Regulating Outlet (RO) at Detroit Dam in Gates, Oregon 97346. The objective is to restore the structural integrity of the conduit and protect it from future erosion and degradation. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision to perform the comprehensive repairs as detailed below: Concrete Demolition and Removal: Perform precision saw cutting with a diamond-bladed saw to establish the extent of the repairs to be performed, creating a dovetailed keyway to mechanically lock the new patch of cementitious repair mortar into the existing wall. This process will be performed by removing deteriorated concrete using lightweight chipping hammers in a region defined through design drawings issued by the Government.
