Project Description: This project will construct a new three-story housing facility for students onboard NAS Pensacola, FL. The new facility will be located between the Naval Air Technical Training Center (NATTC) and East Avenue, just south of the existing 3900-series dormitories on a lot that is primarily a grass field, but in the past was developed as both an airfield and supporting facilities. The entire area is located near sea level, less than 1500-ft from Pensacola Bay. The new facility is planned to have 280 double-occupancy units for a maximum total of 560 residents. The entire facility is planned to be approximately150,000 square feet. Development of the site will need to take into consideration flood hazards and cultural significance of the surrounding areas. No additional parking is proposed. In addition to the new construction, several buildings (601, 602, and 623) will be demolished in connection with this project. Buildings 601 and 602 are connected and located northeast of the intersection of Chambers Avenue and Radford Avenue. Building 623 is located northwest of the intersection of Chambers Avenue and Radford Avenue. However, existing mechanical space adjacent to Building 602 will remain operational to supply chilled water to a piping network. …
