Combined Synopsis/Solicitation This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial services, prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6 of the FAR and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-87, effective, 7 March 2016. It is anticipated that a competitive price purchase order shall be awarded as a result of this synopsis/solicitation. Performance Work Statement (PWS) 2.1 Requirements (1 each) Series 60 MTU Port Engine Cylinder Head Replacement NSN: 2895-01-590-73017 S/N: 06R1060712 2.2 Description of Services A commercial diesel technician experienced in the overhaul and repair of the USCG Series 60 engines used on the 45' Response Boat Medium shall provide labor and consumable parts to perform the repair of the Port engine for hull# 45603. The technician shall provide the required credentials to access the US Government facility. Certified MTU/Detroit Diesel Technicians Only: All technicians must have completed extensive, official MTU training and be certified to perform work on the specified engine series. The use of a non-MTU/Detroit Dealer technician for this service will have a negative impact on the Coast Guard due to the special tooling and technician certification required to perform this service. 2.3 Specific Tasks Drain the coolant from the engine.
