The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) requires Pre-Harvest Herbicide Application on the Jennings Randolph Lake, Elk Garden, West VA. The purpose and intent are to operate for water quality improvement, water supply, flood control and recreation. The dam impounds a lake of 952 surface acres and controls a drainage area of 263 square miles on the border between Garrett County, Maryland and Mineral County, West Virginia.
