The Federal Aviation Administration, Eastern Service Area, is conducting a Market Survey/Request for Information to gain understanding of the current marketplace and to identify responsible, capable sources. Responses to this market survey will be used to determine if there is adequate competition to set this requirement aside for Small Businesses. This survey is being conducted in accordance with FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) Section 3.2.1.2.1 for the purpose of soliciting statements of interest and capabilities from interested vendors. This survey will be utilized for acquisition planning, as well as to determine if there are any responsible small businesses capable of performing this project. This Market Survey is for the Elevator Modernization, Salt Lake City Airport Air Traffic Control Tower (SLC ATCT) Salt Lake City, Utah, 84116. All responses to this market survey will be used for informational purposes only. This is not a Request for Proposal. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals at this time. Presently, the nature of the competition has not been determined. Upon solicitation the FAA may decide to do a full and open competition or set aside all or part of the procurement for Small Businesses (SB), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) or eligible socially and economically disadvantaged businesses that are certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) for participation in the 8(a) Program. All interested vendors are advised that the FAA will not pay for any information or any administrative costs incurred that are associated with any response received in response to this Market Survey. Therefore, any costs associated with Market Survey submissions will be solely at the interested vendor's expense. SECTION I: DESCRIPTION OF WORK TO BE PERFORMS : PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The elevators that serve the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) (1201 N 4000 W, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84116) at the Salt Lake City (SLC) Airport were commissioned in 1999. There is one elevator serving the tower (gear traction elevator) and another serving the base building (hydraulic elevator). The tower elevator is the primary means of vertical transportation up and down the tower and is the only elevator that serves the ATCT. The ATCT is 328-ft above ground level (AGL) and the tower elevator services 23 levels. The base building elevator, used by facility staff who cannot use the stairs, is also in need of repair. The base building elevator only serves the first and second floor of the base building. Both elevators are accessible by the link connecting the tower and base building facilities. These elevators are in operational condition but see frequent outages.
