OBJECTIVES: The primary objective of this project is to enhance the safety, accessibility, and functionality of the Child Development Center's (CDC) exterior areas. This will be achieved by replacing deteriorated concrete surfaces, repairing uneven walkways, and improving the clarity and organization of the parking lot. BACKGROUND: The existing concrete slabs in the playground, along with certain walkway sections, have become deteriorated and uneven over time, posing significant trip hazards for children and staff. The wooden grate shown on the walkway is not a suitable long-term solution. Furthermore, the parking lot striping has faded, causing confusion and improper use of designated spaces. This project will address these deficiencies to ensure a safe and compliant environment for all users of the facility. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: The project requires the replacement of approximately 1800 SF concrete slabs in the playground area. Remove and replace the wooden grate section in the walkway with concrete. Picture is provided at the end of document. All concrete work is to be completed in accordance with American Concrete Institute (ACI) standards. The Child Development Center operates from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. All work will be completed during these hours. The blacking out and re-stripping of the parking lot must be performed during the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) to avoid conflict with facility traffic.
